NAN exists to help people deal with everyday problems. We provide access to advice, campaign on social issues and provide support for people and organisations. We provide a comprehensive online advice database, including many local services operating across Nottinghamshire. We also provide help through our innovative projects, helping people with mental health problems get help with money and debt and providing training on budgeting and money management skills.
We work with all kinds of people, from all walks of life, and we work hard to make sure every person using our services gets the help they need, when they need it. We don’t charge for these services, but we strive to maintain the highest quality standards. We signpost people to reputable advice providers, including Citizens Advice, and make sure the service providers we endorse meet our own high standards.
We aim to work in a way that reflects the diverse communities we serve, that means we strive to reach out to as many people as we can, offering online, face to face and telephone advice. Our vision is to act as an agent of positive change, working to build a better society and improve services through innovation. We can help you with a range of issues, including debt, welfare benefits, housing, relationships and mediation, mental health, housing and employment. We can also help you improve your money management skills and avoid pitfalls, like using high cost credit, signposting you instead to affordable banking and credit through your local credit union.
We aim to help, whatever your advice needs.
Every year 1000’s of people find the help and support they need through NAN, we help connect people to the advice they need when they need it. Our work helps lift vulnerable people, including children and elderly people, out of poverty. We can’t do that work without your help, so please contact us if you’d like to help – we welcome donations and are always interested to hear from people who want to volunteer their time and skills.
